Atlanta, GA, September 21, 2023 – FiberLight, LLC, a fiber infrastructure provider with more than 20 years of experience designing, building and operating mission-critical, high-bandwidth networks, announced an expansion of its executive team with the appointments of Derin Cunning as Vice President of IT and Becky Ospina as Vice President of People and Culture.

As VP of IT, Cunning will strengthen and expand FiberLight’s digital foundation and drive the technology initiatives that align with the organization’s short- and long-term objectives. The newly-created positions represent FiberLight’s commitment to delivering on its vision of providing world-class networking solutions and exceptional experiences for its customers, its partners, and its people.

“Since our acquisition by Morrison & Co. was finalized in April, FiberLight has been laser-focused on three things: our customers, our people, and continuing our mission to build and operate the industry’s best fiber networks,” said Bill Major, Chief Executive Officer of FiberLight. “Derin and Becky are at the forefront of this goal as each has a proven track record of building successful programs, in information technology and people, respectively. With their leadership FiberLight will continue on its priorities to deliver excellence for our team members, customers and partners.”

Cunning joins FiberLight from Digital Realty, where he most recently served as VP of IT Engineering and Operations. With more than 25 years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering and service management across a diverse set of industries, Cunning will oversee FiberLight’s technology initiatives, bolster its cybersecurity practice and efficacy, and ensure the operational stability of its critical systems.

“Digital transformation and continual improvement ideologies have always been part of my core; seeing what FiberLight is setting out to accomplish was an irresistible challenge,” said Cunning. “I’m looking forward to leading the IT team to drive innovation and provide strategic solutions for our partners and stakeholders, paving the way for a very bright future.”

Ospina is an experienced human resources executive with more than 20 years of experience in global organizational leadership. Prior to joining FiberLight, she worked for Onyx CenterSource, NorthShore University Health System and General Electric, where she demonstrated her skill at delivering exceptional employee experiences. In her role at FiberLight, Ospina will focus on creating best-in-class employee programs and processes that encompass the organization’s remote, hybrid and offsite employees. She will also develop a framework that facilitates transparency, collaboration, and empowers employees to take initiative and deliver creative solutions for FiberLight’s customers.

“When I met FiberLight’s executive team and got to know the people I was so excited to join the company,” said Ospina. “FiberLight’s leadership team is focused on excellence, prioritizes transparency, and is committed to investing in people and culture initiatives as the foundation for the company’s success. FiberLight’s future is full of promise and I’m excited to be a part of it.”
