Keeping Customers Connected

When businesses rely on fiber networks to support everything from cloud applications to voice communications, they need more than just a well-designed solution—they need a team watching over that network around the clock. That’s where Network Operations Center (NOC) analysts come in.

A NOC analyst serves as the central hub for monitoring and maintaining network performance. NOC analysts continuously monitor alarms, troubleshoot connectivity issues, respond to customer concerns, and coordinate with engineers and field technicians to resolve problems as quickly as possible. They use their knowledge of networking fundamentals, routing protocols, and optical transport systems to identify issues before they become larger service disruptions, helping ensure customers stay connected and productive.

At FiberLight, NOC engineers are responsible for the day-to-day health and performance of the company’s network infrastructure. Their work requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to make decisions in fast-paced situations where uptime is critical.

“The NOC Support Engineer is responsible for the daily operations of FiberLight’s network, including monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, coordinating with field resources, and managing outages all to ensure maximum uptime for our customers. They proactively identify and resolve network issues, respond to alerts and customer requests, create and track incident tickets, and manage access for all FiberLight and contract personnel into our sites.”

— Jason Coleman, FiberLight
