FiberLight Interconnection Policy/Standards

The purpose of this Interconnection Policy is to ensure that FiberLight, LLC (“FiberLight”) adheres to the requirements and principles outlined within Chapter 21 of the Texas Public Utilities Commission documentation.

FiberLight agrees to utilize fiber optic technology to offer interconnection, where technically feasible, without exceeding current or reasonably anticipated capacity limitations, on reasonable rates and terms to be negotiated with requesting parties. The nature of the interconnection includes the ability to connect to the public internet, as well as physical interconnection for the exchange of traffic across FiberLight’s network.

These interconnection points allow FiberLight to engage with commercial participants to serve last-mile customers with lit services and access to network components and services at reasonable rates and terms. These lit services include FiberLight product offerings such as wavelengths, ethernet transport, and direct/dedicated internet access. These lit services use fiber optic technology within the FiberLight network to provide a minimum of 1Gbps services to customers of all types and sizes, including educational organizations, health care, libraries, government agencies, public safety, other agencies (“Community Anchor Institutions” or “CAIs”). In servicing these CAIs and other private customers, including commercial last-mile providers, through interconnection and various FiberLight services, FiberLight continues to expand its footprint while connecting communities across the country.

FiberLight shall conduct its business and interconnections in accordance with the principles outlined above and will endeavor to be a provider to all entities in need of connectivity solutions.
