FiberLight signs 16,124-square-foot office lease to become first tenant of the FiberLight fiber-fed, office-centric, mixed-use-project in Alpharetta
ATLANTA, Ga. — Atlanta developer Pope & Land has begun construction of the first building in Phase I of Northwinds Summit, its office-centric, mixed-use development in Alpharetta, at the intersection of Georgia 400 and Haynes Bridge Road.
The 24.3-acre Northwinds Summit will be developed in phases, and ultimately will include more than 1 million square feet of office space.
Phase I will contain the 30,000-square-foot 3000 Summit Place, and the 150,000-square-foot 5000 Summit Place office buildings, as well as a 125-room boutique hotel, 140 multifamily units, 32 stacked flat condominiums and 15,000 square feet of restaurants and amenity retail. Phase I is scheduled to be complete in the third quarter of 2019.
Future phases will include three larger office buildings – the 350,000-square-foot 1000 Summit Place, the 400,000-square-foot 9000 Summit Place and the 350,000-square-foot 10000 Summit Place. An additional 15,000 square feet of restaurants and amenity retail is also planned.
Alpharetta-based FiberLight is the project’s first tenant, signing a 16,124-square-foot lease at 3000 Summit Place.
“Moving our corporate headquarters to Northwinds Summit was an easy decision, leveraging the advantages of a mixed-use development and bringing diverse and redundant high-count fiber capabilities to the park,” said FiberLight COO Kevin Coyne.
“Northwinds Summit will be the area’s first 100 percent fiber-fed business park with dark fiber solutions. The fiber will already be installed throughout the park by FiberLight when new tenants arrive, enabling them to quickly access dedicated, high-capacity networks to quickly scale cloud connectivity, Internet or other transport services with one or multiple 1 to 100 Gbps connections,” Coyne said.
Brasfield and Gorrie is the contractor for the development. Cooper Carry is the architect.
Northwinds Summit has direct access from Georgia 400 into the development. An entrance with traffic signal is already in place.
Pocket parks and outside seating will be available to enhance the workday experience for employees.
AlphaLoop (Alpharetta’s version of the Atlanta Beltline) will run through the project, and Downtown Alpharetta and Avalon are both one mile away.
