ALPHARETTA, GA– FiberLight, LLC, one of the nation’s leading providers of mission critical, high performance fiber optic networks, announced today the company has secured a contract with one of the nation’s leading wireless providers to build out over 40 new towers in the Tampa metro area, expanding its leadership position in fiber infrastructure in the market and in the state of Florida. The project includes over 50 new route miles throughout the metro, expanding existing infrastructure to almost 300 route miles and over 100 unique laterals when the network is complete. FiberLight will deliver Ethernet connectivity directly to each tower and the serving MSC in Tampa.

“FiberLight has positioned itself to help wireless carriers deliver the bandwidth needed for today’s evolving network, leveraging our dense fiber to deliver high capacity diverse Ethernet connectivity. Wireless backhaul is one of the most important segments in the fiber marketplace and over the past 5 years, FiberLight has invested in ensuring we are a key participant in this growth segment.” said Michael P. Miller, CEO & Founder of FiberLight.

Mr. Miller continued, “FiberLight’s core business has always centered around building great fiber optic networks and delivering large amounts of diverse and mission critical bandwidth to our most demanding clients in a carrier neutral way. We continue that model and look towards our growth in the southeastern portion of the United States as a direct result of that steadfast, strategic focus. Over the years we have been able to quickly adapt to emerging market demands by strategically reallocating resources toward those initiatives that provide the most positive impact to our client base. FiberLight continues that trend by investing in the wireless backhaul space in 2012. There has never been a better time to be in our business. Profitable demand continues to emerge from multiple points in the marketplace, allowing FiberLight to continue its track record of, not only being uniquely positioned to deliver what our clients ask for, but consistently exceeding their expectations.”

“FiberLight’s networks typically reach farther within the metro area and have more fiber strands available allowing us to uniquely delivery custom network designs that ensure optimal performance on the network for our customers. Over the past 12 months FiberLight has maintained an average core network performance exceeding 99.999% availability with the ability to deliver new network infrastructure up to and including 40 Gig transport services. This network reach, capacity and capability have allowed us to earn major contracts such as our win in Tampa where we will deliver Ethernet connectivity to over 40 towers.” said Mr. Miller.

ALPHARETTA, GA – FiberLight, LLC, one of the nation’s leading providers of mission critical, high performance fiber optic networks, announced...

ALPHARETTA, GA – FiberLight, LLC, one of the nation’s leading providers of mission critical, high performance fiber optic networks, announced today the company has begun construction on a new super metro and regional fiber infrastructure throughWestern Texas. The new network includes the cities of San Angelo,Odessa,Midland,Abilene,Lubbock and Amarillo and will be interconnected with FiberLight’s existing regional Texas long haul network as well as its metro assets inDallas, Fort Worth and San Antonio. The project includes a 250-route mile expansion of FiberLight’s existingDallas metro fiber infrastructure, further extending its leading competitive fiber backbone in the market.

“As one of the largest fiber expansion efforts in the country, FiberLight has undertaken a project that will bring new fiber infrastructure throughout West Texas, extending over 3,000 route miles and being lit by new state-of-the-art optical transport equipment for the delivery of high speed Ethernet connectivity. FiberLight’s initial focus will be to provide needed high speed Ethernet connectivity over its fiber to large enterprise, government and carriers (including wireless providers) throughout the region,” said Michael P. Miller, FiberLight’s CEO and Founder.

“Investing in new fiber infrastructure with projects that have good long-term returns, great growth prospects and a lack of current infrastructure is what FiberLight has done for the past decade, and this marquee project will continue that strong track record of success we have demonstrated in the market. The initial project will connect over 275 wireless towers and over 100 buildings, accelerating our growth once again.,” said FiberLight Chief Development Officer Ron Kormos. His team will bring their 30-year plus track record of building great fiber networks to deliver for FiberLight again and ensure the build is done on time and with the high quality for which FiberLight is known.

FiberLight plans to have construction crews working continuously in West Texasfor the next 18 months and will be working with local economic development organizations, municipalities and key customers to accelerate the development potential of this major investment in new fiber optic infrastructure.

“FiberLight introduced an innovative product strategy to secure this new build out in West Texas, which is our largest to date. The strategy first developed in 2011 by FiberLight drives value to customers through enhanced scalability and control, improving the cost of bandwidth including incremental costs and creates the operating platform to drive revenue and product capabilities for our clients, not available through other traditional connectivity options. This project is a testament to that strategy, and we are excited to see the positive impact on FiberLight and for our clients.” said Ben Edmond, President of Sales & Marketing for FiberLight.

Organizations in Eight Counties Form Consortium To Build A Fiber Optic Super Highway in the North Georgia Mountains ATLANTA, GA...

Organizations in Eight Counties Form Consortium To Build A Fiber Optic Super Highway in the North Georgia Mountains

ATLANTA, GA – FiberLight, LLC, one of the nation’s leading providers of mission critical, high performance fiber optic networks, announced it will pave the way for North Georgia Networks to reach the world along 108 miles of FiberLight’s privately owned high speed, fiber optic backbone. FiberLight will bridge a segment of its own robust network in Alpharetta, GA with NGN’s planned 1,000-mile network to provide a diverse and secure network from North Georgia to metro Atlanta and to connect NGN to 56 Marietta, a Telx facility in downtown Atlanta.
The 56 Marietta location is home to 35,000 connections between carriers, enterprise and service providers. The Telx facility provides carrier neutral access to providers and services that can carry North Georgia Networks well beyond the Southeast.

The $42 million North Georgia Network broadband infrastructure project has the potential to reach 42,000 households, 9,200 businesses and 245 institutions in the eight-county North Georgia region, including public schools, universities, hospitals and government facilities, officials said.

“We are excited about our partnership with FiberLight because it will enable NGN to support underserved segments of North Georgia’s population with broadband infrastructure, while stimulating job growth and business in the eight counties the NGN project represents,” said Bruce Abraham, President and CEO of North Georgia Network. “FiberLight offers the speed and secure access our communities need, while providing the network diversity and neutral access to connect to other providers and services.”

FiberLight’s Atlanta network is constructed in an optical ring topology using state-of-the-art, high fiber count cable built diverse from the local exchange carrier (LEC), while providing diversity and redundancy for a more secure and resilient network.

“Because our network averages 432 fibers in each ring, more than 10 times an average telecom provider, we can offer limitless bandwidth, low latency and scalable solutions based on customer need,” said Michael P. Miller, FiberLight’s CEO and Founder. “Offering a customized network solution of this magnitude to North Georgia Networks is an exciting opportunity for FiberLight, and we look forward to a long and successful relationship in the years to come.”

About The North Georgia Network (NGN)
The North Georgia Network (NGN) is a non-profit company that is building a 1,000-mile fiber optic network across North Georgia. The network will provide access to affordable, reliable broadband at speeds as fast as those anywhere in the world. NGN was chartered by economic development professionals in Lumpkin, Dawson, Union and White Counties, together with Blue Ridge Mountain EMC, Habersham EMC and North Georgia College & State University.

Atlanta, GA– Inc. magazine announced today that FiberLight, LLC, one of the nation’s leading providers of mission critical, high performance fiber optic networks, ranked 923rd in the top 5,000 companies in the U.S. and 30th in the telecom industry. In 2010, FiberLight was ranked 1,089th and 46th in the telecom industry by Inc. magazine.

To be selected as one of the fastest-growing, privately held companies in America for the Inc. 500/5000 award, companies must show extraordinary year-over-year growth for a minimum of 3 years. FiberLight grew by 330% in the three-year period ending in 2010.

In a letter acknowledging the award, Inc. magazine Editor in Chief Jane Berentson wrote, “Your extraordinary success is truly worth celebrating,” Ms. Berentson stated. “With this accomplishment, FiberLight joins the rarified company of enterprises that have appeared on the list multiple times, many of which have grown to become national icons.”

FiberLight has diversified its product line to include a full portfolio of LightSource® products serving government, enterprise, education, telecom carrier and web-centric businesses requiring high capacity, end-to-end network solutions. Earlier this year, FiberLight launched its LightSource Dedicated IP product, coupling the launch of the new service with an enhanced focus on delivering private fiber solutions with the latest cloud enablement network services.

“In our experience, we have found that innovation, risk taking, careful planning, resource management and outstanding people and assets are hallmarks of all successful companies,” Michael P. Miller, CEO and Founder of FiberLight said. “FiberLight has continued to evolve, creating jobs for our communities and value for our customers, despite the surrounding economy. We believe our ability to remain successful while maintaining a high EBITDA and low debt ratio would not be possible without the support and commitment of our customers, partners, vendors and employees, and we are grateful for their efforts.”

FiberLight provides a new dark fiber network in Roswell to enhance city communications and data storage recovery

Roswell, GA – FiberLight, LLC, one of the nation’s leading providers of mission critical, high performance fiber optic networks, announced today that it is building a dark fiber network to connect all municipal buildings in the city of Roswell, GA. The diverse network is constructed in a ringed topology for added security and reliability and connects the city’s park facilities, fire stations, transportation, police station and water management system.

“Because FiberLight has such a deep and robust network footprint in the city of Roswell, we were able to quickly upgrade their infrastructure to provide unlimited high capacity bandwidth for the city’s facilities. In addition, more fiber has been allocated to future proof the network in anticipation of greater bandwidth requirements as those needs arise, “said Ben Edmond, FiberLight’s President of Sales and Marketing.

Roswell officials approved construction of the private network as a secure way to control IT infrastructure costs, improve network design as well as to attract new employers to this growing southern city.

“As the eighth largest city in the state of Georgia, we understand the value and importance of investing in state-of-the art telecommunications infrastructure to better serve our residents and to provide an added incentive for prospective companies considering relocation here,” said Roswell Mayor Jere Wood. “FiberLight has become a valuable partner in this process as they were able to construct a flexible, cost-effective solution that met our design and service delivery requirements in the timeframe we required. We look forward to working and growing with FiberLight in the future.”
