MICHAEL P. MILLER

President & Chief Executive Officer

Michael P. Miller

Mr. Miller became President of FiberLight, LLC in December of 2000, where he determines the overall direction and vision of the company.  In May of 2005 as Chief Executive Officer, he led the successful restructuring of the company’s debt, completed a management buy out of the business, and changed the product and direction of the company to meet future fiber demands.

Mr. Miller is a 30-year veteran of the telecommunications industry and was one of the founding members of FiberLight when it was created as ACSI Network Technologies, Inc. in 1998 as the development arm for a competitive local exchange carrier. (CLEC)

Prior to these years Mr. Miller has held many senior level roles. As Director of the Western Area for ITT he successfully positioned the company to take advantage of the break up of the AT&T in 1984.  As Vice President of Sales, in 1989 he led the charge with National Telephone when the FCC deregulated the public and private payphone service. Later, as Vice President, he ran the National Account program and Operator Services division for LDDS now known as MCI. In 1992 Mr. Miller became one of the founders of Trescom International which provide undersea cable leases to the U.S. and international carrier market. As it’s EVP of Sales and Marketing he grew the annual revenue from $8M to $125M in 2 years. Trescom was sold to Primus Corporation.  Mr. Miller wrote the sales plan and product descriptions for one of the first CLEC’s.  This plan was adopted to take advantage of the Telecom Act of 1996. With this experience Mr. Miller was hired as the VP/General Manager to run 25 of 38 city markets for e.spire Communications.  e.spire Communications later became Xspedius Communications.

KEVIN B. COYNE

Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President of Finance

Kevin Coyne

Mr. Coyne returned to FiberLight in December of 2003 as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Finance, where he is responsible for finance and operations of the company.  Upon his return, he successfully restructured and recapitalized the company.

Kevin joined ACSI Network Technologies (now FiberLight) in 1998 as Controller charged with implementing the finance and accounting department.  He was promoted to Sr. Vice President of Finance in 2002 and was responsible for all ACSI NT financial planning, reporting, treasury, banking, tax and procurement functions.  Most recently in 2006 Kevin was promoted to take on a more strategic role as FiberLight evolves as a company.

Kevin has over 10 years in public accounting with a progression of accounting and managerial experiences and has earned a Master of Science degree in Taxation at University of Baltimore and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at Towson State University.  He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

RONALD KORMOS

Senior Vice President of Operations

Ronald Kormos

Mr. Kormos became Senior Vice President of Operations in December 2003 where he handles all operations for the company.

Ron started with FiberLight (formally ACSI, and then Xspedius Fiber Group) in June of 2000 as Vice President of Construction and later became Vice President of Operations. He has over 30 years of experience in the utility construction industry, specializing in fiber optics placing, splicing and testing, and over 20 years in contract management and budgeting. 

CHAD PIFER

Vice President of Legal & Regulatory

Chad Pifer

Chad Pifer joined FiberLight, LLC in April 2005 as Vice President of Legal & Regulatory.  Mr. Pifer brings more than 10 years of proven legal, business and technology experience to his current position.

Prior to joining FiberLight, Mr. Pifer served as a corporate attorney for KMC Telecom Holdings, Inc. where he provided leadership in telecommunications and regulatory matters. Before his tenure at KMC, Mr. Pifer served as Southeastern Regulatory Attorney for FairPoint Communications, where he assisted in the entire certification process involved with launching their CLEC division in 2000, and then as Regulatory Counsel & Corporate Attorney for Xspedius Communications, LLC where he handled the daily legal and regulatory matters and assisted in the acquisition of the e.spire assets from bankruptcy.

JUDD CAROTHERS

Vice President of Network Operations & Construction

Judd Carothers

Judd Carothers became Vice President of Network Operations and Construction for FiberLight in January 2007, where he is responsible for the daily operations in each of the FiberLight Tier 1 Markets, all new construciton, all customer implementation and service installation for FiberLight nationwide, and he's responsible for responding to and correcting all network and or customer-related issues in each of the FiberLight markets.

Judd joined e.spire Communications in 1997 as Switch Services Manager for the Western Region, responsible for all new customer installatinos in 16 Tier 1 Markets.  He team deployed the first e.spire DWDM system, paving the way for a national redesign of the core optical architecture in the e.spire networks.  He also headed the team of engineers who implemented an updated customer trouble reporting system for e.spire, resulting in a dramatic reduction in the MTTR across all markets.

Judd joined ACSI Network Technologies (now FiberLight) in 2000 as the Senior Manger of Business and Network Development where he was responsible for network expansion, sales and operational support.  Judd has more than 10 years experience in Network Engineering, Telecommunication Operations and Sales and Network Implementation.
