Federal Government

FiberLight has a strong portfolio of government approved contractors that have used FiberLight as a sub-contractor for construction services, fiber and conduit delivery as well as for providing equipment and managed solutions. FiberLight has worked in support of Homeland Security mandates and for military applications. The FiberLight network is particularly robust in the Washington D.C., northern Virginia and Maryland area. There are many government institutions on-net or near-net to our network and FiberLight provides access into such locations as the Pentagon and Naval Observatory as well as many other installations.

State, County and Local Governments

FiberLight has a wealth of knowledge and experience in working with government entities. FiberLight is franchised within each of its markets and is able to receive permitting and other authorizations to both build and operate networks on the state and local level. FiberLight has worked directly with local governments to provide fiber solutions as well as with school systems, libraries, universities and medical facilities within the ERATE program to provide private networks to interconnect these public facilities.

FiberLight is an approved ERATE provider since 2000 and has built networks in several states to support distance learning, medical imaging and records access to name a few applications. FiberLight has the ability to work with government retained consultants to help bundle solutions and even help in presentations to city councils and county boards of directors to secure funding and approval for projects. Many local governments are turning to ownership of dark fiber networks to enhance their attractiveness to business and to provide the latest technology to their constituencies. FiberLight can help support planning, design, engineering, implementation and actual maintenance and operations of government networks.
